Collaboration Flow

Executive Committee – Members of the Executive Committee (E.C.) are elected officers for 3-year terms. They include President, VPs for each campus, Treasurer, Secretary, Grievance Officer, and two At-Large positions.
Negotiating Team – Members of the Negotiating Team (N.T.) are appointed by the E.C. to represent The Chapter at the bargaining table for one-year terms. The Chair(s) are also appointed by the E.C. to lead this group and facilitate discussions with Management. The N.T. consults with and reports to the E.C.
Sub-committees – These groups are formed to collaborate with Management on specific matters away from the bargaining table. This affords us the time and resources needed to explore complex subjects and allows the N.T. to focus on broader topics at the Table. These sub-committees will include at least one member of the N.T. and faculty members who wish to participate who have experience, knowledge, and/ or interest in these issues. These committees may work together in person or remotely and time spent will vary.
Advocacy Work Group – Members of this work group are appointed for a one-year term to participate in advocacy and lobbying efforts on behalf of the Chapter. This could include providing testimony at the county and state levels as well as participation in national and state association groups. Further, members may be asked to attend meetings to collaborate with other chapter and advocacy groups across the state.
Outreach and Engagement Work Group – Members of this work group are appointed for a one-year term to participate in various activities to engage our members on behalf of the Chapter. This may include merchandising efforts to advertise our Chapter and various engagement activities such as campus lunch events. This group will also be charged with recruiting new members and “checking in” with current members.
Mentorship Work Group – Members of this work group are appointed for a one-year term to collaborate with Management to create and facilitate a new Mentoring Program for existing and new faculty on behalf of the Chapter. This term may be flexible depending on the time needed to develop this program. This needs final approval from Management and further discussion at the E.C. level.
LMCC – Labor / Management Collaboration Committee meets monthly with Employee Labor Relations from Human Resources to identify and mitigate issues that arise. Membership includes the Chapter President, Grievance Officer, and at least 1-2 other faculty members from our membership.
SVP Group – Senior Vice-Presidents meet monthly with the Chapter President and Grievance Officer to discuss complex and on-going issues that need high level intervention.
